HOW WE GREW
We grew from a regional to national company utilizing a three year expansion plan. Our focus was to build a network of qualified contractors who would perform small jobs, were responsive and cost competitive. In 1991, we began network development in our native New England, then spread coverage down the East Coast. Over the next two years we developed a contractor network to service the midwest corridor, then the western US territory. To meet market demand we added Canada and Puerto.
CSM grew out of a friendship forged on the job. Steve and John met in 1989 as members of a newly hired sales team of 5. They saw great opportunities in their new industry. Well, the company jettisoned the entire staff in 10 months, but the guys kept in touch. Beyond their friendship was a shared conviction that there was a greater demand for chain store facilities beyond the scope of one or two trades. They joined forces again in 1991 and founded Chain Store Maintenance, Inc. The rest, as they say, is history.
